Modern panels are incredibly durable. Our chosen TIER 1 panels are tested to withstand a significant impact, meeting the IEC 61215 standards for hail resistance. Even during major events, such as the brutal hailstorms, panel damage was exceptionally rare. We are confident in the structural integrity of every panel Stellr installs.

What happens with the extra electricity I produce?

Any excess energy you generate is automatically fed back into the grid, and your utility provider credits your account. This is often done at a 1:1 Net Metering rate with your energy company. We work closely with providers like NS Power, NB Power, and Foothills Energy Co-op to ensure you get the maximum value for your exported power.

How long will my solar panels last?

We work with best-in-class manufacturers who provide a robust 25-year product & a 30-year performance warranty. Given that panels have no moving parts, the industry expectation is that they will continue producing power efficiently for 40+ years, often far exceeding the standard warranty period.

What if we don’t plan to stay in our home or business forever?

Going solar is a recognized value-add. Studies, particularly those focused on the Atlantic region, show that solar installation typically increases the equity of your home by 4–6% in markets like Nova Scotia. It's an investment that pays you back immediately and increases your property's resale appeal.

What is the workmanship warranty on installation?

Stellr stands behind every installation. We provide a 5-year workmanship warranty on our labour. This is in addition to the industry-leading component warranties: a 30-year performance guarantee on the panels themselves and a robust 25-year warranty on the inverters.

What kind of maintenance am I required to do on the system?

Practically none! Solar systems are designed to be hands-off. Mother Nature does most of the cleaning for you. We also provide proactive performance monitoring to ensure your system is running at peak efficiency—if we see an issue, we let you know.

How does winter affect solar panels?

While output is lower in the winter months, the impact is often less than expected. According to recent North American studies, snow build-up will typically only reduce a system's yearly output by a mere 3–4%. The dark panel surface heats quickly, creating a "skating rink" effect that causes snow to slide off naturally after a snowfall.

Do I have the ability to increase the size of my system over time?

Yes, system expansion is always possible. As your energy needs change (e.g., purchasing an EV or adding a heat pump), we can design a seamless expansion. The key is to be able to "prove" the additional consumption to your utility company to meet their net-metering requirements.
